Two Coaldale residents in fatal collision near Taber

Taber RCMP have confirmed that as a result of a two-vehicle serious injury collision that occurred at about 6:35 p.m. on Dec. 5, a 33-year-old male and a five-year-old male, both of Coaldale, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased were passengers, along with a female driver and another passenger, a three-year-old male. Both of these occupants were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There were two occupants in the other vehicle. The driver, a male, did not receive serious injuries but his female passenger was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The collision took place on Highway 3, approximately 15 kilometres east of Taber.

RCMP continue their investigation into this motor vehicle collision.

UPDATE:
A three-year-old child travelling in the same vehicle was airlifted to Calgary hospital via STARS with non-life threatening injuries and is recovering. Two other female subjects were also transported to hospital and their extend of injuries are unknown at this time.

Road and weather conditions were not a factor and alcohol was not a factor. RCMP continue their investigation into the motor vehicle collision, and charges are pending. Names of the persons involved will not be released at this time.
