Coaldale and area residents will have the chance to hear from local candidates running in the April 28 federal election at an all candidates forum on Monday, April 14.
The candidate forum, hosted by the Coaldale Chamber of Commerce, will take place at the Town of Coaldale’s Civic Square atrium starting at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m.
The Chamber invited all candidates to participate in a moderated discussion, that will provide voters a chance to learn more about each of their platforms, priorities, and positions on key issues.
Coaldale Chamber of Commerce president, Robert Woolf noted the importance of the Chamber’s role in fostering informed decision-making among constituents.
“Hosting an all candidates forum aligns with our commitment to supporting a well-informed electorate,” said Woolf. “By providing a space for open dialogue, we ensure that both business owners and community members have the opportunity to engage with those who seek to represent them.”
The forum will follow a structured format, including a series of pre-selected questions and members of the public are encouraged to submit questions in advance to info@coaldalechamber.com. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions through a moderated process during the event.
Several candidates have confirmed their participation in the upcoming forum, including Rachael Thomas (CPC), Amber Murray (GPC), Chris Spearman (LPC), and Nathan Svoboda (NDP).
Advance polling stations will be open from April 18–21, with election day set for April 28. Residents unsure about their voter registration status are encouraged to visit http://www.elections.ca to register or update their information.
All voters must present photo identification on election day. Those who have not pre-registered can still vote at their local polling station by providing photo ID and proof of their current address.
