during cycling action near the community of Readymade last Wednesday during the first day of the Southern Alberta Summer Games. The following are results from the SASG action for Lethbridge County. On Day One, the county earned 7 gold, 4 silver and 10 bronze for a total of 21 medals. On Day Two, the county earned 15 gold, 14 silver and 19 bronze for a total of 48 medals. On Day three, the county earned 21 gold, 17 silver and 22 bronze for a total of 60 medals. On Day four, the county earned 31 gold, 20 silver and 29 bronze for a total of 80 medals. Four days of competitive sports action took place at venues all across Lethbridge, as well as the neighbouring areas of Readymade and Magrath. More than 1,400 medals were awarded to the more than 2,200 athletes that took part from all corners of southern Alberta. The City of Lethbridge proved triumphant in the medal count, earning a games-high 370 medals, including 163 golds. The M.D. of Taber also had a tremendous games, earning 226 medals and the M.D. of Willow Creek managed to finish with the third highest total with 134, beating out the County of Warner, which had held third over the early days of competition. The 2017 Southern Alberta Summer Games will be held in Brooks.
