Online magazines at the Coaldale Public Library

Last fall, through our regional library system, the Coaldale Public Library began providing online access to 100 popular magazines through Zinio.

In my discussions with patrons, I have come to realize many people still aren’t aware of this great service. 

All you need is your library card and a pin number to gain instant access to our Zinio collection.

Each magazine is a digital copy of the print version and includes full text and graphics.

Zinio includes a wide-range of titles.

For the nature lover there are titles such as “Alberta Outdoorsman” or “Canadian Gardening.”

Crafters may be interested in “Cloth Paper Scissors” or one of the several knitting or quilting focused magazines.

Chefs will enjoy “Food Network Magazine,” “Savour” or “Taste of Home.”

Other popular titles include “National Geographic,” “Consumer Reports,” “Elle,” “Men’s Health,” “Us,” “Popular Mechanics” and “Rolling Stone.”

The collection also includes magazines for kids such as “Chirp” and “OWL.”

Magazines are a great way to read for current information or enjoyment and often the content comes in small, bite-sized articles for those with busy lives.

One of the best parts about Zinio is unlike online books, the magazines never expire. As long as you don’t delete them from your device, the magazines you choose to download are yours to keep.

Zinio can be accessed via your browser on PCs and Macs.

Zinio is also accessible on tablets and Smartphones with the free Zinio app.
