Coaldale Copperheads

Saturday night in Coaldale, the Coaldale Copperheads took charge over the Stettler Lightning with a 9-1 victory.
Seven players found the back of the net — Ryan Swier and Brady Parenteau each tallied twice, while Tyler Anderson, Clay Spencer, Brendon Benson, Matt Krusky and Sam Paskuski each netted a single. Dillan Kelly stopped 25-out of-26 shots in the Coaldale crease for the win.
Sunday was a different story with a tough schedule for the south team, as the Snakes had to travel early morning to Blackfalds for an afternoon game.
It was not the outcome the Copperheads needed, as the team basically didn’t come to play — settling with a 6-1 loss.
Captain Ryan Swier was the lone goal scorer in the game and Dillan Kelly was in net for the loss — saving 21-out of- 28 shots.
After the weekend play the Snakes are currently in second place of the south (13-4-1) behind Cochrane ( 19-3-0), which is ahead of them four games in the schedule.
This coming weekend, the Copperheads travel to High River Friday night and then it’s back at home Saturday at 8:30 p.m. to meet those Blackfalds Wranglers again.
