Opponent: Lethbridge Cougars. Date: 09/04/2014.

Score: Lethbridge 3 Coaldale 1 (peewee) and Lethbridge 1 Coaldale 1 (atom).

Scorers: Dylan Strong 40-yard TD run (peewee) and Reylen Stringer 40-Yard TD Run (atom).

Leading Tacklers: Mason Kish (peewee), Harlen Pinder (atom),Valente Oliveros (atom).

Summary: The peewees gave up two quick scores early in the game and the offence started to click in the second-half.

Long runs by Liam Slomp and Dylan Strong opened the middle for the tough running of Mitchell Tews and Tyler Takahashi. Defensivley after a couple adjustments, the Cougars were unable to move the ball consistently for the rest of the game.

The atom game was a defensive grudge match, both teams marched the ball close to the goal line but could not punch it in. Late in the game, Reylen Stringer broke three tackles on his way to a 40-yard touchdown run to put the Pride ahead 1-0.

On the last play of the game, Lethbridge had a long run of their own to tie the game.

Next game is at home (Coaldale Quads) Sep. 11 at 5:30 p.m. against the Taber Rebels.

Coaches and their quotes: “The kids worked hard in August to get ready for this game and it showed on the field. With a few tweeks and adjustments we will be one of the toughest teams to play against week in and week out.” And, “I am very proud of these kids and their commitment to this team.”
