On the first game night, at the Snakepit, the Ponoka Stampeders were beat 4-2 by the Snakes.
James Price, Craig Lyon and Matt Nadeau tallied for the home team, while Dillan Kelly turned aside 40 shots in net. The Copperheads replied with 56 shots. Captain Colby Murray led the Copperheads with a four-point effort the next day during the second game of the weekend to beat the Banff Bears 6-2.
Murray had two goals and two assists, while singles came of the sticks of Colton Gross, Jay Hitchcock, Connor Gross, Craig Lyon and Jay Hollingsworth.
Home town goalie Kelly had another strong effort in net turning aside 31 shots for the win.
