I was reading in the Lethbridge Herald today that Susan Perks of Coaldale was eye-to-eye with a big hawk.
So neat to see the picture, because that same bird was in my birdbath for one-and-a-half hours!
There was no other birds in sight until the next day! He was not shy!
I looked up in Birds & Blooms and found out it was a northern goshawk.
It spends most of its life in the Rocky Mountains and northern regions in Canada and Alaska. So the bird was just passing through.
We may be missing a few of or birds but that is ok. For us this year it was a nice sight, better then a deer last year.
So glad someone else saw this bird too.
