It was a quieter weekend for the Snakes with one single game in Stettler. It was a game that just had bad luck right from the start of their journey.
To start with the team arrives late to the arena with six bodies short in the lineup due to various reasons. Plus the 60 minute effort reflected reasons enough the Snakes only gained one point from the game.
Four and a half minutes into the first Copperheads Jared Bainbridge obtained the opening goal of the game.
After forty minutes the game was tied 1-1.
Copperheads Brandyn Howg suffered a hand injury taking a shot to the hand leaving the game at prime time.
With 2:07 left in the third period Snakes Jedd Horvath pulled the Snakes ahead 2-1.
You’d think that Horvath goal should of sealed the deal but with eleven seconds left in the game the Bolts pop one in making it 2-2.
Either team scored in the five minute overtime.
Three Copperheads missed their opportunity to score in the shoot out; the second Bolt Shooter scored taking the two point victory.
The team outshot Stettler 41-21 but were 0 for 4 in the power play. Copperheads are currently sitting second in the south with a 7-1-2 record in ten games right behind Okotoks with a game in hand with a record of 8-2-1.
This upcoming weekend the Copperheads travel to High River Friday night and back home Saturday the 27 th for a 8:30 start time against the Three Hills Thrashers.
Copperheads have two upcoming notices:
Nov. 3 — Cancer Bake Sale Fundraiser event in the Snake Pit lobby is open for all public willing to participate.
Nov. 18 — the pocket schedules distributed to the public has an error in the start time. Game will begin at 6:00 p.m. vs 8:30.
