Coaldale Copperheads
Coaldale Copperheads have moved into first place of the south following triple game wins this past weekend.
Sitting with a record of 18-3-2 in 23 games it is still a tight spot to be in with Okotoks Bison with a similar point record in 21 games ( 16-3-2) Copperheads had a home/away set of games against Lomond Lakers which will finish off the regulation season against the inaugural HJHL team.
Both games the Snakes came out on top with final scores of 5-3 and 6-1.
Some of the credit could very well be given to Copperheads Jared Bainbridge and Riese Nevil who each earned a hat trick.
On Sunday, the Copperheads traveled to Strathmore to play on the large ice surface taking the Wheatland Kings 6-1 for the third game of the weekend.
It was all around a team effort throughout the weekend but the following players put points on the score sheets as well.
Ty Abbott ( 3 goals, 3 assists); Levi Anderson ( 2 goals, 3 assists); Jayden Smith ( 1 goal, five assists) and Tyler Anderson ( 1 goal. 3 assists) Broc Merkl faced 57 shots in the Friday and Saturday affairs.
Nolan Berner was present for the full sixty minutes on Friday stopping 38 for 41 Lakers shots.
Next home action will be Saturday, Dec 8, as for the first time of the season the Blackfalds Wranglers come to pay a visit to the Snake Pit.
The game will start at the normal 8:30 pm.
