Copperheads return after break with big win

The Christmas break is officially over and the Coaldale Copperheads have returned to the ice for the second half of the Heritage Junior ‘B’ season.

On Sunday afternoon, the Snakes were able to kick start the second half with a home date against the Kainai Braves.
In a high scoring affair, the Copperheads would spot 10 goals en route to a 10-3 win. Krishan Stocker potted a hat trick, Brogan and Kaden Booth each collected three assists, while Dallas Bodnar and Hayden Hale each had a goal and an assist. Brandon Creighton and Mason Sande had a goal and an assist, and Kole Fujita had two assists. Sean Burns, James Halverson, and Tristan Miller each had one goal, while Braiden Burke, Dylan Nevil, William Neudorf, and Nolan Price all had an assist.

Brendan Stewart got the start between the pipes and made 16 stops in the win.
The Copperheads will see their season continue this coming weekend with a pair of games on the road. On Saturday, the Snakes head to Strathmore for an 8 p.m. matchup against the Wheatland Kings. The road trip continues on Sunday when the team heads to Three Hills for a 2 p.m. puck drop.

The Copperheads start the second half of the season in third place in the Southern Division with 37 points. Okotoks continues to lead the division with 53 points with Medicine Hat in second with 42 points.
