Two Cobra teams return to CAHL action

While the U11 teams and the U13 team were not playing in Central Alberta Hockey League games this past weekend, the U15 and U18 Cobras were back on the ice.

U15

The U15 Cobras had a lone game on the schedule this past weekend as they hit the road to Claresholm on Sunday afternoon. No game sheet was available on Monday morning. The U15 Cobras return to the ice on Jan. 21 against Bow Island/Foremost at home.

U18

With Christmas break over, the U18 Cobras had two games on tap this past weekend as they were on the road for both. It all kicked off on Saturday night when they took on Lethbridge Red. The Cobras had zero rust coming out of the break as they steamrolled Lethbridge Red with an 11-0 win.

Dalton Damen scored twice and added an assist, Kade Lyckman had two goals, Shae Van Buuren and Kaiden Damen had a goal and an assist each, Kevin Erick, Ryden Yackulic, Jackson Stone, Chase Petersen, and Ryker Bruised Head all had a single goal, and Kyle Harrington, Gage Lyckman, Hector Peralta-Lopez, and Ethan Moulton chipped in with an assist each. Logan Van Der Leest had the shutout.

The Cobras looked to keep rolling on Sunday when they took on the Taber Oil Kings. When the final buzzer sounded, the Cobras had taken a 5-2 win on Taber ice. Van Buuren had another two goals, Donovan Malm and Erick had two assists each, Yackulic, Kaiden Damen, and Chase Petersen had a goal each, and Gage Lyckman, Peralta-Lopez, Stone, and Kaede Wakefield all had an assist. Brenden Duda got the start in net and made 30 saves on 32 shots.

The U18 Cobras return to the ice on Jan. 21.
