Coaldale/Picture Butte RCMP team with Alberta Sheriffs for check stop

On the evening of April 26, 2024, Coaldale/Picture Butte RCMP partnered with the Alberta Sheriffs and conducted a check stop. Officers concentrated on three areas for this check stop:

• Area around the Indian Hills Golf Course, SE of Coaldale

• 20 Avenue and 13 Street in Coaldale

• Highway 512 near the Lethbridge Correctional Center

Over 200 vehicles were stopped during the night and as a result, the following infractions were discovered:

• 3 IRS Fails (2 alcohol, 1 cocaine) **IRS is Immediate Roadside Sanctions**

• 1 IRS Fail (zero commercial)

• 5 Voluntary Payment fines (tickets)

• 1 warrant executed (Taber PD) that also resulted in new criminal code charges
