One of the province’s premiere parks located right in southern Alberta’s backyard — Park Lake — was a big hit for campers this past May long weekend.
“It’s going to be a beautiful year — absolutely stunning. The long weekend was really busy, which was great, so we were anticipating that and it definitely came through. It was wonderful,” said Katie Green, from Alberta Parks.
According to Green, all 72 sites at Park Lake were completely booked up. Sites are reserved in advance. For more information campers can visit http://www.reservealberta.ca.
“From what I experienced, this is my first year here, there have been people from different places,” noted Green, who is from British Columbia. She said campers visited the area from Edmonton and as far away as Nova Scotia.
“Which was excellent, absolutely fantastic,” she said, adding a lot of campers know the park well and come back every year.
Because of the beaches, playgrounds and beautiful trails — Park Lake is very family friendly, said Green.
“A visitor mentioned the other day of just how well maintained everything is here, how well taken care of it is.
