A Coaldale man has been charged following an incident involving a self-inflicted gunshot.
On January 7, Coaldale RCMP responded to a report of shots fired at a residence in town. An investigation revealed that a man had been inside a residence with a shotgun when the gun accidentally discharged and he shot himself in the foot.
The man was transported to hospital by EMS for treatment.
Following the incident, 41-year-old Scott Eugene Conine was charged with the following breach of conditions, unauthorized possession of a firearm, three counts of careless use of a firearm, and six counts of possessing a firearm contrary to order.
Conine was remanded in custody and made an apperance in provincial court in Lethbridge on January 10.
