On July 18, the Piyami Health Centre was temporarily closed following damage from a water leak, to ensure the safety of both patients and staff. This closure included public health and allied health programs, laboratory services, diagnostic imaging and the ambulatory clinic. Long-term care on site was not affected.
Affected program staff contacted those with appointments to reschedule or relocate appointments. Laboratory and diagnostic imaging services are available in Lethbridge and Coaldale.
The non-urgent walk-in clinic in Coaldale also offers care to people who need to see a doctor but don’t need to be seen in the emergency department. Residents were reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions.
Patients seeking emergency care can also access the emergency department at Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge. In the event of a medical emergency, please call 911.
For those interested in entering a float in the parade, registrations are still being accepted. Entry is free of charge and the registration form, rules, and regulations are available on the Town’s website.
