Your local library has always offered more than books. It’s also full of digital resources, movies, games, magazines, and more. Now, the library in Coaldale has another special offering. Skates!
“We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new skate library, a resource designed to make skating accessible for everyone in our community,” says Kindra Birss, Head Librarian. “Thanks to a generous community grant from the Town and the overwhelming support from local residents who donated gently used skates, we are proud to offer over 65 pairs of skates—both hockey and figure skates—from children’s sizes to adult. In addition to skates, we also have a variety of accessories, including helmets, skate protectors, and BOB skates— which can be attached to shoes or boots, perfect for young children just learning to skate.”
Birss continues, “This new initiative aims to provide an exciting way for everyone to try skating, without the barrier of expensive equipment. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or a first timer, we hope the skate library will become a beloved and frequently used resource in our community.”
