The provincials were held last week.
Calgary’s Heritage Christian Academy Hawks defeated the host Picture Butte High School Sugar Kings 87-82 in the opening game.
High scorers for PBHS were Scott Bergen-Henengouwen with 24, followed by Ryan Loman and Eric Davies, who each scored 14.
The following are the results from day two.
First seeded Immanuel Christian High School Eagles defeated Millwoods Christian Royals 89-70. ICHS was led by Brendan Degner’s 20 points, followed by Davis Konynenbelt (16) and Kevin Veluw (12).
The host PBHS Sugar Kings defeated La Crete Lancers 63-56. PBHS was led by Scott Bergen Henengouwen’s 23 points, followed by Ryan Loman with (18) and Johnny Reimer’s (11).
The following are the results from day three.
Host PBHS lost an overtime heartbreaker to Holy Redeemer after a last second buzzer-beater sent the game into overtime.
The final score was 73-71 for Holy Redeemer. PBHS was led by Ryan Loman’s 21 points. Eric Davies added (14) and Johnny Reimer had (12).
The championship final was played before a standing room only crowd in the PBHS gym.
Immanuel Christian Eagles defeated the Stirling Lakers 72-57 to claim the provincial title. ICHS was led by Brendan Degner’s 21 points, with Aaron Groenenboom adding (16) and Kevin Veluw (12).
